Recruiting Team Captains for Pool to 5k/10k

We are recruiting at least 4 team captains to assist the Mighty Mermaids at the She Is Beautiful 5k/10k on September 6. Team captains will help us ensure all team members have a fantastic race experience. Captains will be matched with a pace group (walkers, fast walkers, walk/runners, joggers, or runners). At the SIB race, captains will support their assigned group through conversation, positive encouragement, taking photos, and helping with basic needs (like applying sunscreen or carrying car keys).
Team captains will also participate in the 10-week Pool to 5k summer pool training program so that they can get to know our team members and help us promote camaraderie within the group. To show our appreciation, we will discount the cost of Pool to 5K to just $250 for team captains (that’s $200 off!). Other incentives will be provided as well, with more details to follow.
To apply to become a team captain, please fill out this application. No prior water fitness experience or road racing experience is required. Completing the application does not guarantee a position as a captain. If offered a captain position, clients will still have the opportunity to decline.
Expectations of Team Captains
Must be able to participate in at least 75% of Pool to 5k workouts
Must agree to lead a pace group for the Mighty Mermaids at the SIB race (race entry fees are to be paid separately)
Must try to recruit 1-2 (or more!) team members
Must be open to organizing a social event of your choice with the other captains (i.e. a team meet-up for Concerts in the Park or Fiesta, brunch, post-workout coffee, happy hour, etc)
Must be open to arranging regular team walk/run meetups at a designated location
