Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a prescription to use your pool?
No, a prescription is not necessary to attend any of our pool programs.

What should I bring?
Bring a towel, swimsuit, and clothes to change into after you're done in the water. Water bottle, sunglasses, hat, and water shoes are optional.

What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours' advance notice to cancel an open pool, class, or personal training reservation in order to avoid a late cancellation fee. See policies posted
here.

Do you have a locker room? Showers?
We have two private changing rooms with showers, in addition to a handicap-accessible shower in both the women's and men's restrooms. We do not have a locker room. Personal belongings are kept in storage cubbies on the pool deck. Please leave valuables at home.

I am lost. How do I find Anderson Aquatics?

We are located in the Funk Zone right behind Municipal Winemakers. If you’re outside Muni on Anacapa St, follow the black and white checkered tiles on the “ocean” side of the building until you see our ramp. More information can be found here.

Do you use chlorine?
Yes, the pool is sanitized with chlorine. Our water chemistry is monitored closely throughout the day to ensure chlorine and pH levels remain adequate to keep our water clean and healthy.

If I have open wounds, can I still use the pool?

All open wounds must be covered by a waterproof dressing prior to entering the water. We recommend 3M Tegaderm Transparent Film dressings, which may be purchased at your local drug store or online. Post-operative patrons must have written approval from their surgeon prior to beginning any of our water exercise programs.

Is the water warm?
Yes, the pool is always kept at 92 degrees, an ideal temperature for moderate exercise and stretching.
