Water Fitness Class Policies

General Information

Instructors will teach classes according to the class description and difficulty level (beginner, intermediate, or advanced). To attend an intermediate or advanced deep water class, patrons must be safe and independent in deep water (wearing a buoyancy belt or using buoyancy equipment as needed) without holding the pool wall for 50 minutes.

Classes are designed for healthy individuals. Individuals actively seeking treatment from a physical therapist or other health care professionals should obtain clearance from their physician prior to starting classes. It is the responsibility of the client to take a break or substitute with another exercise if an exercise is too difficult or causes pain. Instructors will provide exercise modifications to lessen or increase the difficulty of certain exercises and will provide ample cueing for correct technique.

Open pool is not allowed during class times. If registered for class, patrons must participate in the class plan as written. If the client is unable to participate in the class plan due to pre-existing injury, the client should not take class until the injury has healed and he/she can safely participate.

Anderson Aquatics provides all of the necessary pool equipment used in classes. While patrons are welcome to bring their own equipment (such as flotation belts or gloves), Anderson Aquatics is not responsible for injuries resulting from damaged/broken equipment.

Class participants must be able to enter/exit the pool safely and independently. Clients may enter the pool up to 5 minutes early at the discretion of the lifeguard on duty. Class participants must exit the pool as soon as class ends and may not wait in the pool until a shower becomes available.

No children under the age of 18 are permitted to participate in water fitness classes.

Anderson Aquatics reserves the right to cancel class if 2 or fewer people have registered within 12 hours of the start of class.

Registration & Payment

Participants must register for class beforehand in person, via phone, or (preferably) online via mindbodyonline.com or the Mindbody app. There are no standing reservations; participants must sign up for each class they want to attend. Registration opens one month in advance.

Each class is capped at a certain number of participants to ensure there is adequate space and equipment for all. If a class appears “full”, patrons may sign up for the waitlist. If an opening becomes available, they will be notified by email (and/or by phone) and added to the class roster.

Payment is due prior to entering the pool and can be made with cash, check, or credit card. All class packages expire two months from date of purchase with no exceptions. Class packages may not be placed on “hold” or shared, nor may package credits be transferred to other pool programs.

Wait List, No Show, & Cancellation Policies

If an individual registers for class and cancels with less < 24 hours’ notice, does not show up for class, or is refused entry to class due to their late arrival, they will incur a $25 fee (for group fitness classes) or $40 fee (for specialty classes), to be charged to the credit card on file. Alternatively, if a client has a prepaid class package, one class credit will be applied to the missed class.

Waitlisted individuals have the option to show up for class and wait to see if all registered participants arrive. If a space is available at 5 minutes past the class start time, the waitlisted client may join the class. If a client arrives > 5 minutes late and a waitlisted individual has joined the class in their slot, the late client will be refused entry but will not be charged.

Class instructors reserve the right to refuse pool entry to all individuals who arrive > 10 minutes late for class, as late arrivals can be disruptive to other class participants and missing the warm-up may lead to injury. Clients will be charged the late cancellation fee or 1 class from a prepaid package in this circumstance.
